New York: Asuda together with two NGOs from Iraq, Baghdad Women Association and Women Leadership Institute participated in the 54th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women [CSW] at the UN Headquarters in New York.
Ms. Khanum Raheem Lateef represented Asuda in the meetings. The Iraqi NGOs were part of a delegation invited by Norwegian Church Aid to contribute to the discussion and review of reports submitted by the Government of Iraq.
The Iraqi NGOs attended several sessions on the 15-year review of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995) and the outcomes of the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly (2000).
