Asuda Launches Wokrshops for Clergymen on SGBV Print E-mail

 Sulaymaniyah, On 6 October 2008, and within the framework of the USAID supported "Community Based Intervention for the Prevention of Violence against Women" project, Asuda started a series of workshops for religios leaders in several districts in Sulaymaniyah province. The workshops are conducted in coordination with the Department of Endowment and Islamic Affairs in Sulaymaniyah.

 The first workshop was successfully concluded today 6 October in Kalar with the participation of 22 clergymen.

A series of workshops shall continue within the course of next week  in other districts in Sulaymaniyah province and will be followed by similar activities in Erbil province.

This project include several other activities including radio and TV programmes, dissemination of posters and pamphlets on SGBV and violence against Women. The project particulalry focuses on the role of community and religious leaders in addressing the issue of domestic violence and GBV.
