On 31 May 2010, a delegation from the Swedish Social Democratic Party headed by Ms. Mona Sahlin , Party Chair accompanied by Mr. Urban Ahlin, Deputy Chair of Committee on Foreign Affairs, Ms. Ann Linde, International Secretary, Mr. Oscar Stenstrom, Foreign Policy Adviser and Mr. Claes Nordmark, Communications Officer and Mr. Shorish Qadir visited Asuda Office in Sulaymaniyah.

Ms. Khanum Raheem Lateef, Asuda Director welcomed Ms. Sahlin and her accompanying delegation warmly and met the delegation.

The Swedish Social Democratic Party Chair and members discussed with Ms. Lateef the situation of women in Kurdistan and activities of women NGOs and Asuda. They also discussed challenges facing women activists and NGOs as well as human rights defenders.

Ms. Sahlin presented to Ms. Lateef the logo of Swedish Social Democratic Party to Ms. Lateef as a token of appreciation.

Ms. Sahlin and the delegation also met all Asuda staff over dinner hosted at Asuda office.
