5 January 2010: Asuda issued a Press Release condemning the attack of two gunmen on a family inside Sulaymaniyah resulting in the death of the husband and serious injuries to the wife.

On 2 January 2010 evening Aram Jamal Rasul was shot dead in Rizgari neighborhood inside Sulaymaniyah and his pregnant wife was seriously wounded and remains under the threat of honor killing.

Asuda strongly condemns this attack and the murder of Aram and wounding his wife and calls upon the Police and Security Apparatus to protect the life of civilians. We demand the authorities to put an end to the use of force and weapons to settle social differences and disputes and bring perpetrators of the attack to justice.
