Erbil, 5 May 2009: Under the auspices of the KRG Prime Minister Mr. Nechirvan Barzani and in the presence of several KRG Ministers and Mr. Samir Zubaidi, the Iraqi Minister for Civil Society Affairs as well as a number of MPs and representatives of NGOs, Asuda received the Civil Society Award.

The award was given to 10 NGOs and Civil Society organziations selected by a special committee.

Asuda had received in 2006 the Equality Award from the KRG on 8 March. The Equality Award was given to Asuda in recognition of the work, activities and contributions of the organizations in protecting women and endeavoring to uphold women's rights in Kurdistan and Iraq.
