Erbil, 24 April 2009: Asuda attended a meeting with Amnesty International in Erbil also attended by NGOs working on women's rights in general and protection of women in particular. The NGOs included those working in Kurdistan Region as well as other parts of Iraq.

The meeting provided an opportunity to share and exchange views, experience amongst the NGOs and Amnesty International on issues regarding women's rights and protection. The legal aspect of women's rights situtaion in Iraq and the recent amnedments in the personal status code applied in Kurdistan were also discussed.
